Other that factors such as socioeconomic strengths and medical conditions of the patients, it is also important to consider their spiritual beliefs while deciding their health care strategies. For coming up with effective forms of treatment, it is important for the health care service providers to come up with effective modes of open communication and interaction. The use of interpersonal skills in important in this situations as it helps in the process of building up trust in between the service provider and the patient (Shea, Wynyard Lionis, 2014). This also provides an opportunity to the health care provider to come to terms with the cultural differences with special preference to the patients religious beliefs. Sometimes it may also include practices such as looking for meaning in illness, engaging in the mystery pertaining to end of life care and death, dealing with compassion and believing in miracles and this not just constitute the patient but also the families and the health practitioners of the patients. The chosen religions for this assignment are Christianity and Buddhism. From the perspective of each and every religion, the philosophy behind providing care services may be compared as well as contrasted to the Christian perspective taking into account my individual viewpoint as a researcher. I have tried to take into account the spiritual perspective along with the associated critical components that are part of the healing process of both of these religions. Buddhism is considered to be a religion that had its origins in India and leads way back into the 6th century BC. As per the teachings of Buddhism, a follower perceives life as an inevitable process that stars with births includes ageing, illness and finally culminates in death. They believe that the main cause for all diseases happens to be rooted in their internal being rather than being projected externally (Demie ville Tatz, 2004). In this context it is important to understand what Buddhist mean when they talk about the mind. For the Buddhists, the mind is a non physical being. It is shapeless, formless, colourless and also genderless. The mind has cognizant abilities and its basic nature is pure pervasive and limitless. The Buddhists believe that sickness is first created in the in mind as suc h as it remains to be the creator of all problems, thus the cause f the diseases is said to be internal rather than external Consequently, the process of healing is achieved for them with the help of positive thoughts that culminates in an individuals positive actions which keeps them engaged and leads to their healing. It is a very strong belief of the Buddhists that all forms of happiness and suffering are directly related to an individuals karma. Thus if a person is devoid of any negative karma then the individual is not suppose to have fallen sick. However, the complete lack of negative karma can only be achieved with the help of constant awareness and being aware of all forms of bodily actions, thoughts, speech and mind. Thus as per Buddhism, the philosophy of being healthy remains to be an individual responsibility since being in possession of a health mind and clean karma will effectively lead to a healthy body. Buddhism also asserts the fact that for the purpose of lasting healing to occur, one has to heal both the current diseases along with the cause of the diseases that finds its root in the min d (Hawter, 1995). Unless this is done the problem will continue to occur all over again. To heal the mind of its illnesses, it is imperative to eliminate all the negative though processes along with their imprints. Buddhist medicines are usually herbal in nature. But it is unique considering the process it undergoes while being prepared. Preparation of these medicines includes extensive use of mantras and prayers which are said to make the medicines more powerful and effective. They believe that compassion is a great healing power. Meditation and visualizations is also a very important tool used in Buddhist healing rituals (Fraser, 2014). This is the same as the Christian form of healing wherein an individual is asked to visualize the light as an embodiment of Jesus. As per the Christian beliefs spiritual healing is concerned, they try to take into account the art of channelling the energy from God to an individual who needs the process of healing. The channel is actually another individual but the healing power comes straight from God. The diseases and ailments that an individual suffers from are a result of their diseases are derived from sins and wrongdoing. However, it is important to understand that using a channel for the healing process may not be a success every time (Mark 11:18) just the way a patient wants since sometimes healing comes in the form of empowerment which an individual receives when they learns to cope with their problem (Pursuingthetruth, 2010). Notwithstanding this, the use of prayer is also considered to be an effective form of healing. In comparison to my personal beliefs, I may say that this is in a way true since I personally believe that God punishes all individuals for their sins and sickness is a form of punishment for our wrongdoing. Seeking forgiveness from god leads to healing as does indulging in no wrong acts and being just and kind to others around us. An individuals good actions define how they are going to be. Thus it can be noticed that there are major similarities in between the beliefs of Christian spiritual healing and Buddhist spiritual healing since the main component of both is healing through prayers. Another similarity lies in the fact that atoning for the sins is believed to be a route to healing in both these religions though maintenance of good health remains to be a personal responsibility in case of Buddhism. It is quite interesting to realise that even though the religions in themselves are so diverse, there are common points of similarity in between the two. It is thus profound that when it comes to understanding the religious beliefs of the patients, which are often different from those of the health care service providers, respect is essential. Also when a health care providers takes into account the religious sentiments of the patients and caters to them respectfully, they earn the trust of the patient and also their gratitude. This helps in strengthening the patient doctor relationship which is essential when providing services and healing the patient (Vaughn et al., 2009) . In conclusion thus it may be stated that all health care service providers need to gather knowledge and respect the individual religious beliefs of their patients when it comes to spirituality and the healing process. Many rely on its information presented to them as the truth and not an opinion or lies. This is how people can tell what is going on in the world around them. Sometimes the news is reliable and helpful and sometimes it’s just complete lies. This is not just the weather man got the forecast wrong or the sportscaster predicted wrong for the big game, these are real stories being twisted and mangled from the truth. American news is biased in order to gain higher viewership. News wasn’t of course always on television; but, it has been since television programs were first aired. â€Å"Unlike the 1941 ambitious twice-daily newscast schedule, CBS had more modest expectations for the station in 1944 and only offered one night of live programming a week, doubled to two at the end of the first month. The CBS-TV 15-minute newscast began each night of live programming on the station For the next 4 years, CBS would offer anywhere from two to four newscasts a week, finally settling on a daily format in May 1948. To begin with, the basic primary functions of an operating system (OS) is managing resources such as coordinating the hard drive, internal memory, processor, etc. to make your computer run more smoothly. The operating system also acts as a User Interface with the application Microsoft Office, with the trial version already installed onto your computer. Finally, running applications meaning running all the application software such as Microsoft Word in Microsoft Office which we are going to discuss. The main three features of Microsoft Office that I am going to discuss with you are spelling and grammar check feature, the status bar feature, and the Word Help feature. These features will be most helpful I believe with your experience as a student and a worker. The first we will discuss will be the spelling and grammar check feature. You will be able to use this feature to correct misspelled words and incorrect grammar in your document. This is most helpful when typing an essay for school and creating a document for the office such as a business proposal. As you type, Word automatically checks your typing for spelling and grammar errors. When you misspell a word or use incorrect grammar, a red (for the misspelling) and a green (for incorrect grammar) wavy underline will appear underneath the errors. You can go to the incorrect grammar or misspelled word and right click on the word to see the suggestions that Word will give you to put in place of the incorrect word and/or grammar. The next feature we will discuss is the status bar. It is located at the bottom of the current document window that you are creating just above the Windows task bar. It presents information about the document such as the progress of current tasks. It also displays how many pages in the document and on which page you are currently on. It also displays how many words you have typed which will be very helpful in the case that you may have to write a report with let us say 500 words in it. It also displays your spelling and grammar check icon to let you know if you have any errors. A blue check displayed on the icon means you do not currently have any errors, while a ed ‘x’ mark means you have an error somewhere in your document, whether it be incorrect grammar or a misspelled word. Also, another feature of Microsoft Word, that I will include for you, that you may find useful is the templates. A template is a starting point that is pre-set, all that is needed done by the operator, which is you, is to fill in the blanks or replace pre-written supplements. Examples of templates include business letters, resumes, academic letters, personal letters, statements, etc. You can view your templates by clicking on the Office Button, then select New, and click on installed templates. The last feature we will discuss is the Word Help feature. It is very useful especially when you are new to Microsoft Word. Any time you are in the process of using Word, it does not matter if you are in the middle of a paragraph, page, or sentence, you can access Word Help to find answers to any of your questions. It responds with a list of search results with different links from many sources that you can click on to display your desired answer. It will minimize your time learning how to use Word and will reduce your frustrations. You can access it by clicking the Microsoft Office Word Help button near the upper right corner of your Word window displayed as a blue circle with a white question mark in the middle. A specific software application that I have found useful on my computer is Microsoft Office Excel. I have found it useful because I can keep track of my financial records, I can make a spreadsheet of how much money I currently have, how much I have spent, what I have spent that money for, and how much money I have remaining. I have also actually made a â€Å"potty chart† for my three-year-old daughter that every time she uses her ‘potty’ on any given day, she receives a sticker on that chart. I have also made chore charts for my household because I have a couple of friends staying with me until they get on their feet. We rotate the chores every week. Finally, the features of my current course website, E-College, that will help me to achieve success in my academic pursuits are: the main Course Home page where I can keep track of new announcements that my professor has posted; he Grade Book tab where I can check to see what my current grade is and the grades I have made on different assignments; and the email tab that lets me keep in touch with my instructor of any personal matters or any questions I may have that I do not want to be shared publicly. Human Cloning has been one of the most intriguing topics in modern day Science. It has fascinated scientist and researchers alike. Cloning is a process of asexually reproducing identical individuals with similar genetic make-up. It also refers to a process in biotechnology that generates multiple copies of a DNA fragment. The term clone comes from the Greek word, which means twig or a branch. It was derived from a process in horticulture where in a plant is cutting a branch and replanting it. Many countries around the world focus their research in cloning particularly, on humans. China is one these countries to fund a research program for cloning. In the 21st century, China has proven itself as one of the powerful nations in the world. It was thought as a â€Å"sleeping giant of the east† but after the recent Beijing Olympics, China was considered the â€Å"rising dragon of the east†. During the 1980s, Zhangjiang HiTech Park of Pudong District in Shanghai provided the Chinese National Human Genome Center. This marked the start of the Genomic Era in China. In the late 1980s, the scientists of Fudan University were funded by the Chinese High Technology Research and Development Program The program was also called the 863 program. The aim of the project was to construct a map of the human genome. The scientist constructed a DNA library for mapping genetic related diseases. This project was later developed into another project also funded by the 863 program. Fujian University, Ruijin Hospital and the Cancer Institute of Shanghai were assigned to produce a new genomic technology by means of molecular genetics. The research aims to look for cures for genetic diseases including cancer. They were also trying to utilize medical genetics in their research. The institute of Basic Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Science was independently doing another research on another genome project. They were developing a rare cutter restriction enzyme to help in the analysis of massive DNA fragments of human genome. These efforts and processes were the spark of the genome research in China. The early 1990s was the beginning of the Human Genome Project (HGP) for the U. S. A. , but China responded by participating in the International Rice Genome Project led by Japan. China, the largest developing country in the world was concern of food security, because they consider rice as their staple food source. Mapping the genome of rice is easier than of humans.
